The practitioner app runs on your device. Your client takes the test on theirs and sends you a results file; we never receive either. You are responsible for the client data you hold.
Using the ICA in hiring
- Give every candidate for a role the same free test. They take it on their own device and send you their results file.
- Use each profile to plan structured interview questions and to discuss how the candidate prefers to work, learn, decide and handle pressure.
- Compare each profile with the demands of the role, not candidates' raw scores with each other: ICA scores show the order of a person's own preferences, so the same number means different things for different people (why).
- Combine the ICA with structured interviews, work samples and other job-relevant assessments. It is one input, never the sole basis for the decision.
- Carry the same profile into onboarding and team development once the person joins.
Rules of use
The license covers coaching, team development, hiring, education and wellbeing. Results are self-reported preferences: use them as one input alongside other evidence, never as the sole basis for a consequential decision, and never for clinical diagnosis.
The ICA is a behavioral-preference assessment, and its accuracy is currently being studied. It is not a clinical, medical or diagnostic test, does not measure intelligence or cognitive ability, and does not screen for dementia or any other condition. Use it as one input in decisions such as hiring, never as the sole basis for a consequential decision.
Going further
Certification adds six advanced modules, an examination and a verifiable certificate. License holders can upgrade for $1,000.
Common questions
How do I give the ICA to clients?
With the license, you generate a client copy of the assessment file, send it, and your client takes it on their own device and returns their results file, which you import.
Do I need certification to use the ICA with clients?
No. The license lets you administer and interpret the ICA. Certification adds advanced training, an examination and a verifiable certificate.
Can I use it with teams and in hiring?
Yes. The license includes group analysis of faculty and profile distributions for team development, and the same profiles support hiring and onboarding as one input alongside interviews and job-relevant assessments.

Building a shared standard for how people think, feel and act
The ICA is being built as a shared standard across coaching, hiring, teams and education: free access, published scoring and one results format.
ICA practitioner certification
ICA certification: the license plus six advanced modules, a 60-question exam and a verifiable certificate. $1,998 one-time; a private credential.
Ipsative vs normative scoring
Ipsative scores total the same for everyone, so they compare your own preferences, not you with other people. What that means for forced-choice tests.
